Of Work, LOve & Parenthood...

It's been awhile since my last blog! ;-) Just t0 let everyone know I'm still breathing, albeit i get short of breathe from screaming at Bailey! Anyhow, she has sort of grown up in this couple of weeks, not only in size but in her mental state as well... She bites lesser now & responds well to commands. Tho, she cant really hold a Stay for long but its ok for now...

I think i can say, A Life is never quite complete without a Dog! Ha Ha! It's not easy at all. As Bailey is being caged outside, i used to rush home from work to tend to her & there was one particular incident where it was raining so heavily & Bailey got nervous in the cage & started crying! When she saw me she went berserk & when she finally calmed herself down, i wrapped her in a towel & craddled her like a baby. She was soaking wet & cold. I made up my mind to send her to a daycare after that....

The next day I made a call to Joshua who owns a petshop cum grooming, near where i stay... As i have visited the place before, they hav a rather nice play area & i was overjoyed when Joshua said the have daycare & can accomodate my timing! He was nice enough to open his shop at 7.30a.m. just so that i can drop Bailey off before i head to work! Fine & dandy! Being late to work was becoming a norm by now. I cud hardly focus on work! I called Joshua to check on her & he assured me she's fine & she did not start any fight with Joshua's 2 poodles...

I wud say RM5 a day to pay for Bailey's daycare is reasonable and the good thing is she gets air conditioned the whole day & can eat the poodle's food! She also gets to socialize & play with the other dogs there; Charlie the Aust Silky Terrier, Joshua's golden retriever & Snowy the Cat...
I was torn initially, fearing what if Bailey becomes so friendly she might turn into a poor watch dog but i proven otherwise! I'm seeing with my own eyes, how a working line GSD's nature, guarding instinct runs strong in their blood! You will be suprised tat even 4mths, Bailey is suspicious of all strangers & is only friendly after introduced!

The recent problem was, Bailey is turning into a picky eater! Unless forced, she refuses to finish her food! I tried mixing sliced cheese in small pieces in her food & I dun think it's a good idea to be doing that long term! I have been doing my homework & realised that the current dog food that I'm feeding is actualy kinda bad for my dog! I cursed silently for buying a freaking 15kg bag! I wished someone told me earlier Corn, Gluten, Beet pulp, meat by-products, BHA, BHT etc etc are BAD stuff & will cause health complications to our furkids! Having noticed some bumps on her tummy & some hot spots, prompted me to find a better food very quickly!

Its amazing & also frustrating at the same when i was looking for a good dog food to switch! Everyone claimed theirs was better! All the products looked the same! How & what the heck am I supposed to feed my dog?? I came across Nutro, Eaglepack, Orijen, Canidae, & one i have to say most bizarre is Addiction; the flavors include Kangaroo & apple etc etc, Possum! & something, & Venison & something! That was definitely something new! Oh goshhh, there was sooo many things to learn!

I have finally resorted to feeding her Royal Canin mixed with Canidae+ 2 spoonfuls of canned food! It smells darn good! She finishes her food most the time! I'm fattening her up since a few have commented how small & skinny she is for a 4mths old!! I'm not mistreating her ok!? She's just not interested in food!

Wah,so nice. You buy Royal Canin for Baileyah. It sounds like an expensive stuff because it's Royal. Anyway, so long your dog like it, you wouldn't mind to spend a little bit extra.
