An English Odyssey ....

" Do you want to come to England or not Missus ? Then go book your tickets!" and he went on to nag me to book my tickets for the entire month!

Not everyday some one offers you a complimentary holiday! I wanna goooooo...... Wait .... What about Bailey and Poodley ? Who's going to take care of them? Will they approve my leave ? How much money am I going to need ? How am I going to tell my parents ?? Argh!

The pain and hassle of leaving your pets behind and going away for holiday is not funny. I spent RM1,500 for their 3-week boarding with Mr. Carlos, G-Pets Kennels in Shah Alam after making sure he was the best. The day before I left, I packed Poodley 2 T-shirts from her Daddy in case she was going to miss us.... Mr. Carlos jokingly asked if the T Shirts are for Poodley to wear on Sunday... Aahh it was so hard!

Then, I had to face the 13-hour flight.

Being afraid of heights, flying isn't a thing to get excited about whatmore flying AirAsia X! I opted the seat next to the Window.. The seats weren't as tiny as I expected then again if you were stuck with an ass-hole next to you for 13-hours, no seat size is going to help!

My heart sank when this scruffy looking Ang Moh in bermuda shorts, scraggly hair and unshaven face shuffled in the seat next to me... I thought, "Oh brother..... "

He asked if I was on holiday in the most gruffy voice and I wished he would stop talking to me! When i mentioned that my brother works in Port Hedland only did he open up in a wide grin and exclaimed that's where he lives and it is a shithole. So for the next 13 hours, we chatted, drank wine and played Tic-Tac-Toe....

I couldn't sleep a wink! Tossing and turning in my seat; Are we there yet ??

Finally we touched down at Stansted, I almost had problems with the Border Agency, I was united with my Beanie a little past Midnight and soooo coldddd !!! Good God, I couldn't believe I was in London!
We sped back to the Hotel and it was almost 1am-ish and I was so exhausted.. So I thought OK I'm going to take a quick shower and stupid tried to scrub my feet IN A BATH TUB; stupid thing to do as I slipped and fell, landed on my side and a big bruise  :(

Still I slept ....

... and Woke up to a bright morning! ... and I looked at my phone... 5.30am  ?? You gotta be kidding me ! Stupid me, it's Summer time morning in a European Country! Thats why! Nevermind, we went back to bed and woke up at 7am for breakfast and planned our Itinerary for the day....

Good ol' County Hotel...

The breakfast place where we had to fight for food with throngs of other Polish, Danish & Swedish Tourists!

... Well I did look at some London Tourist Attractions brochures in the Magazines during the flight so I thought OK British Museum is the place to go! So we took the tube and got off at one of the stations and walked through a park and watched a squirrel take a crap...

Yahoooo! British Museum!!!

     Main Entrance....

Inside the British Museum....

Coincidently, I took this photo with Horus, a symbol I felt I had a connection with

After 3 hours in the British Museum my concentration started to wander. Too many things to see, too much information to absorb, it was really quite overwhelming but still, I wish I had another day to spend here !

My first time seeing a Mummy!

Seeing this was like the coolest thing in my life!!
Hanging out in Trafalgar Square...

We were sitting in Cafe Nero overlooking Big Ben, I was sipping my coffee watching the people walk by, I'm like "Wait a minute, Where am I ??" and it felt so surreal. 20 hours ago, I was in KL, and 20 hours later sitting here looking at Big Ben!

Ok, since we're in the neighbourhood we might as well pop by and take a photo of The London Eye ... I'm not a fan of heights so I really didn't see the point of paying a few quid for this... A Photo here will do !

We continued to wander around until 6pm-ish and I was already exhausted.... Jet lag kicking in and I felt rough. We still had to take the Tube to get back to the carpark and drive 10mins back to our Hotel, planning what to eat for dinner. Determined not to end up ordering Room Service, we walked out to a nearby pub, too tired really to decide further.

I ordered a Stella Artois and Prawn Fried Rice while my dear had Egg fried rice and Curry... I was too embarassed to take a photo as my boyfriend had earlier begged me not be a "Japanese Tourist" ! Meaning, I'm not to photograph every possible object !!

Evening was so bright and sunny, which my dear told me it's actually 8pm, What the ... ! It's really a lot to take in in one day !
